Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Midwife
Kate Griffin moved to Austin twenty-some years ago to attend the University of Texas. She enjoyed biking the hills and swimming in the spring water so much that she stayed after graduating with a BA in Geography - Landscape Ecology. She worked as a Biologist for Texas Parks and Wildlife and received her Masters in Geography - Environmental Resource Management from Texas State University. After the births of her children and experiencing the caring hearts of midwives, she realized her true career in midwifery. She brings an ecological perspective to her work, believing a healthy ecosystem is in balance with the natural community and the pregnant mother is a perfect habitat that seeks the balance found from the care and nurturing of midwives. She enjoys playing in creeks with her two boys, bicycling to farmer's markets and a good latte with her husband.
